Coimbatore,Dec16 : About 70 Hanuman Sena workers were arrested here today, for attempting to take out a procession in connection with the 'Hanuman Jayanthi' celebrations,police said.
Since police did not give permission for the organisation to take out a procession, about 60 workers, defying ban, assembled at Sullivan street in Gandhi Park area,and attempted to take out procession, after hoisting a flag,police said.
They were immediately taken into custody.
Meanwhile, a group of Hanuman Sena workers, were taken into custody at Kuniyamuthur on the city periphery for similar attempt, police said.
